Burning

November 13, 2010

Mama always said that “The way to a man’s heart was through his stomach.”   So when Charity invited Oscar over for Thanksgiving dinner, she found out pretty quickly that she was in trouble!

Flooded Zoo

November 12, 2010

The Illustration Friday word for the week is “burning”. Ok, this is a bit of a stretch, but it sort of works, eh?

I’m heading to the SCBWI L.A. Illustrator’s Day tomorrow and this is what I entered for the illustration contest they are having. We were asked to illustrate something for the following sentence:

“It was night, and the rain fell; and falling, it was rain, but, having fallen, it was…”

So I thought … a flood. A flooded zoo to be exact. I know, always with the stretching I am.

Anyway, wish me luck!

Have you Rippled today?

June 11, 2010

Do you want to make a ripple?

Kelly Light and her daughter have created a blog called Ripple where you can purchase an Artist Trading Card. Each sketchcard on the blog is $10.00. The $10.00 is a donation to help the animal victims of the Deep Water Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. Every penny is donated. The two Non-Profits that are benefitting are The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies and The International Bird Rescue Research Center.

Check it out! Every little bit counts!

Speaking of goals…

January 5, 2010

While digging around my archives, I stumbled upon this little guy from last year’s January Illustration Friday post.

In the midst of wracking my brain for viable, creative goals, I realized that some body parts beside the brain needed spiffing up as well. So Bartholomew’s plight seemed rather appropriate!
